In Nekouz municipal okrug 37 educational establishments function, from them 20 schools of general education (6 secondary, 11 basic, 3 primary), 13 preschool educational establishments, Nekouz evening school, 2 establishments of special education (Nekouz Regional House of pupils and Nekouz Regional Youth Sport School), Octyabr Children's House. In educational establishments 2449 children are taught.
 The educational process in establishments is conducted taking into account the wishes and gifts of the pupils. There are classes of alignment, classes of developing teaching on Zankov system, gymnasium classes, pre-higher education classes. In senior classes the vocational training is organized on clothing manufacture, shop assistance, automobile engineering.
 The establishments of culture are:
- 18 club houses, including: one culture-leisure center in New Íåêîóç, 4 settlement culture-houses (Borok, Volga, Octyabr, Mokeiha), 10 village culture-houses (Sass, Stanilovo, Latskoe, Vereteya, Marino, Parfenyevo, Shestikhino, Andreevskoe, Novoe, Voskresenskoe), 2 club-libraries (Rozhalovo, Pravdino); Center of national crafts.
- 20 libraries;
- Children musical school in New Nekouz with 4 branches in settlments;
- National collective «Lira»;
- 14 cinema units.
Main directions of development of culture in the okrug:
- Improvement of forms and methods of leisure activity;
- Increase of quality of service in libraries;
- Further support and development of the various forms of amateur art activities;
- Increase of a role of cinema in leisure of the population;
- Improvement of quality of initial music education;
- Development of museum business, further study of a history and culture of Nekouz land.
