     The researchers constantly connect a history of our land with Mologa-town, mongol invasion and the battle on Sit river (March 1238) - the last battle between Vladimir's prince Yuriy Vsevolodovich and horde of Baty-khan. Legends about that tragical time exist among the inhabitants of this land to present day.

     There are 12 Tumuli and 67 historical monuments at the territory of Nekouz municipal okrug .

Church (Verhnenikulskoe)     Among numerous architecture monuments the Shestokovski convent in Sheldomezh and the Pokrovski monastery in Bykovo attract greatest attention. The temples, chapels, nobiliary manors, villas of merchants, house of the rich peasants are attractive too.

      The landscape parks in villages Volga, Voskresenskoe, Novoe, Usovo, in former nobiliary manors Andreevskoe, Borok, Gorshkovo, Neskuchnoe, Molkovo are very interesting.

Monument to N.A.Morozov (Borok)     Manors of scientist N.A.Morozov (Borok) and dramatist A.V.Sukhovo-Kobylin (Novoe) are recognized as monuments of federal significance by the Ukase 175 of president of Russian Federation from 27.02.1995.

     The special pride of Nekouz land always was made by the people, whose life and activity are connected with this country. Among them the representatives of known nobiliary families: princes Volkonski, Golitsyn and Kurakin, counts Musin-Pushkin, Sokovnin and others.

     Nekouz land is connected with destinies of such people, as

  • Yu.A.Neledinski-Meletski – statesman and poet;
  • A.V.Sukhovo-Kobylin – writer and dramatist;
  • A.D.Kleschenko – writer and poet;
  • F.G.Solntsev – painter, professor of St.Peterburg Academy of Arts, painted more then 7000 water-colour pictures;
  • E.G.Solntsev – painter, author of decoration of Isaac Cathedral in St.Peterburg;
  • N.A.Morozov – revolutionist and scientist of encyclopaedic.
